Dear Montessori Families,
It was wonderful to see such a great turn out for the Parent & Child night last Wednesday. What a pleasure it was to watch the children teaching their families with such confidence and independence. This is quite a self-directed group of students.
As some of you have heard my daughter broke her wrist and arm playing soccer last week. She had surgery on Friday to pin the bones back into place. Thank you for your expressions of concern and kind thoughts. The surgery went well and she is now recovering nicely. However, she is unable to use her hand to write. Your children were able to help her complete a special Girl Scout project in time for Thanksgiving. She was in the process of coloring and writing messages on little note cards to accompany Thanksgiving Day meals for the Equinox Dinner in Albany. Yesterday, the class completed the note card project . They colored pictures of turkeys, acorns and the Mayflower and wrote kind messages in their best handwriting. The children were such a great help with this project.
The class seems to be enjoying the study of the Solar System. If you and your child would like to continue to research the Planets or Space here are some great websites to help you learn.
We are looking forward to the field trip to the planetarium next Friday. Please sign the permission slip which was sent home in your child’s bag today.
