March 4

March 4, 2011 Welcome back! Can February be over already? Hopefully we are all healthy and well-rested and ready to travel to the Emerald Isle! The classroom is filled with Irish flags, artifacts from Ireland, Island and Lake Landforms, a puzzle map of Europe, and a touch of leprechaun and rainbow work. Let us not forget our potato lesson (with scrubbing of course) as well as our eagerly anticipated visit from Hayden’s mom Monica as she will treat us to a presentation from her native land of Ireland. You may begin hearing about a clever little leprechaun who likes to visit the classroom this time of year. He has been quite mischievous in the past so beware!!!! (many alumni from our elementary program like to come back and visit this time of year as well…they like to check on the little guy too!) Our body unit continues with the heart and we couldn’t get past March 2nd (Theodor Geisel’s birthday) without a Dr. Seuss author study. Amanda will be presenting her rhyming lesson soon! I’m sure you have already, but try to schedule your conference for Friday, March 18th or Monday, March 21st. We’re looking forward to seeing you. Ss for next week!!! Have a nice weekend, Liz and Kristen
