Today, as a member of the NYSAIS (New York State Association of Independent Schools) and WHMS Head of School, I visited the offices of Roy McDonald and Ronald Canestrari to talk about Woodland Hill Montessori School. It was nice to tell them about our great school and the benefits that Woodland Hill has in our surrounding community. Our diverse and international population seeks and supports a curriculum that helps students really understand a multitude of complex concepts through hands-on and project based learning. We also asked them to support CAP (Comprehensive Attendance Policy) legislation to reimburse schools for attendance records. Currently, the state owes independent schools over $300 million for reimbursements over the last several years.
