Lourdes
Ortega is
the
Assistant
Teacher in
Cassandre’s
Primary
classroom.
She is an
excellent
teacher with
over seven
years of
experience
in the
Montessori
classroom.
Having
received her
Montessori
training
from
Princeton
Montessori
Center in
New Jersey,
Lourdes
serves as
one of our
Summer
Program
Directors
and is our
Assistant
Director of
the School
Care and
Enrichment
Programs.

Amanda
Bentley
Lead Primary
School Care

Amanda is
our lead
primary
School Care
Teacher. She
has been
working with
young
children for
16 years.
Inspired by
her
grandmother,
a former
teacher,
Amanda has
been a
dedicated
member of
the WHMS
staff for 8
years.
Amanda is
very active
in her IOOF
Rehekah
Lodge as
well as her
church.

wanted to
work with

feel that I
can be a
positive
force in
their lives
and help
them to make
a difference
in the

Rae
Hammond

Rae works
with our
children in
the Primary
School Care
Program.
As a member
of the staff
since 2004,
she has also
worked as a
member of
the summer
staff.
Rae has
previously
worked with
children as
a counselor
for the Girl
Scouts
summer
camps.
She has an
Associates
Degree in
Individual
Studies from
Hudson
Valley
Community
College.

on a daily

Miller

Michelle is
a member of
our Primary
and Lower
Elementary
School Care
Staff. She
is currently
a student at
Hudson
Valley
Community
College
studying
early
childhood
development.
Before
coming to
WHMS,
Michelle
worked at
King’s Kids
Early
Childhood
Learning
Center.

Sara
Bradley

Sara
graduated
from Hudson
Valley
Community
College with
an
Associate’s
Degree in
Early
Childhood.
She has
since
transferred
to the
College of
Saint Rose.
Her major is
in Early
Childhood
with a
concentration
in English.
In 2006 Sara
student
taught in
Nancy’s
classroom
and started
working for
WHMS with
the Primary
School and
Morning Care
Programs.
She has also
worked as a
substitute,
as part of
the
enrichment
staff, and
as a summer
program
assistant
for WHMS.
Sara finds
babysitting
very
rewarding
and has been
called upon
for her
services by
WHMS
families and
staff.

Elizabeth
Alowitz

Elizabeth
has many
years of
experience
working with
and teaching
children.
She has a
Master’s
Degree in
Jewish
Communal
Service, a
field
similar to
Social Work,
from
Brandeis
University.
During the
day,
Elizabeth is
the School
Counselor at
Hebrew
Academy of
the Capital
District.
She is very
creative and
very excited
to have
joined the
Lower
Elementary
Aftercare
staff as
Lead
Teacher.

truly enjoy
being the
Lead Teacher
for the
Lower
Elementary
School Care
Program.
The children
are vibrant,
fun and
enjoy the
crafts I
prepare. I
look forward
to our
‘playtime’

Ciccone

Ashley joins
the WHMS
School Care
Staff by
working with
the Upper
Elementary
and Middle
School
students. In
the school
care program
Ashley helps
students
with their
homework and
leads them
in group
activities.
She has
plenty of
experience
working with
children.
With an
Associate’s
Degree in
Early
Childhood
from Hudson
Valley
Community
College,
Ashley
continues
her
education at
the College
of St.
Rose.
“Seeing
children
with smiles
on their
faces
because they
enjoy what
they are
doing, makes
the job of
teaching a
rewarding

Esma
Ulcay
Born in the
United
States, Esma
Ulcay moved
to Turkey
when she was
five. She
returned to
the U.S.
from Turkey
and attended
Hudson
Valley
Community
College
graduating
in the
spring 2007,
with a major
in Early
Childhood.
After
graduation
from HVCC,
Esma
transferred
to College
of Saint
Rose where
she
continues
her studies.
As a student
teacher she
observed
various
preschool
and
kindergarten
classes
learning
something
new from
each of
those
experiences.
She also
worked as a
teacher in
kindergarten
class in
Albany
Turkish
Culture
Center where
she taught
Turkish
classes to
the
children.
Esma works
for WHMS
School Care
Program in
the primary
classroom.
“I love to
work with
kids,"
Esma
says. "For
me, teaching
provides an
opportunity
for
continual
learning and
growth. I
believe each
and every
child has
the
potential to
bring
something
unique and
special to
the world.”
