Cora Heiser – Middle School Teacher
Cora Heiser completed her undergraduate course work at the State University of New York at Cortland, where she earned a B.A. and New York State teacher certification in adolescent Social Studies education 7-12. She also holds a M.Ed. from the University at Albany. She recently fulfilled her requirements for Adolescent Montessori Teacher certification. Cora joined the WHMS faculty in 2006 as the Middle School Head Teacher.
Leah Blind - Middle School Teacher
Leah Blind holds a B.S. in Biology from Bucknell University and a M.S. in Environmental Science and Policy from Johns Hopkins University. She taught 7th and 8th grade science in Maryland for five years and is currently certified to teach secondary science in New York State. Leah is currently working to fulfill her requirements for Adolescent Montessori Teacher certification.
Heidi Nathanielsz - Middle School Language Arts Teacher
Heidi Nathanielz is a graduate of Tufts University with a bachelor’s degree in drama with an English major concentration. She also has master’s degree from Harvard Graduate School of Education. Heidi is our Middle School Language Arts teacher. She taught Middle School Language Arts and Social Studies at Collins Middle School and Cambridgeport School prior to moving to the Albany area. She was also an Outward Bound instructor in Colorado. Heidi had her own children’s apparel company, Potato Playground, and is an actor and writer, most recently seen in Rumplestiltskin at the Steamer 10 Theater.
Diane McCorkle - Middle School Spanish and Latin Teacher
Diane McCorkle is our Middle School Spanish and Latin teacher. Diane has many years of Spanish and Latin teaching experience, most recently at Emma Willard School, where she currently teaches Latin. Diane has a bachelor’s degree and graduate work in Spanish from the University of Michigan. She also has additional graduate work from Carnegie Mellon in Spanish Language Acquisition. Diane has also taught Spanish at Parker School and at the Susan Odell Taylor School.
